Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….
Black-footed penguin (Spheniscus demersus) calling aloud. Also known as the African penguin, another name for this bird is the jackass penguin. This is due to the braying donkey-like call it makes. This flightless marine bird is found on the coasts and islands of Namibia and South Africa where it feeds on fish, squid and crustaceans. It is endangered due to competition with commercial fisheries and frequent oil spills. Photographed on Boulders Beach, Simonstown, Western Cape Province, South Africa.
